About The Spot

Located at 157 Wooster St, New Haven, CT 06511, The Spot operates as a pizza restaurant serving New Haven in Connecticut. This page gathers the practical details people usually look for before visiting: where it is, how to reach it, when it opens and how customers rate it. Google also lists it under restaurant, which is worth knowing if you are comparing several options in the area.

Pizza places in the United States run from a counter with two stools and a stack of boxes to a full sit-down pizzeria with a bar, and most neighborhood shops do all three things at once: dine-in, takeout and delivery. Ordering by phone is still common and often faster than an app, and many independents charge less when you call direct because there is no platform fee. Sizes are usually listed in inches (a small around 10", a large 14", an extra-large 16" or more), and a large feeds two to three adults. Slices are sold from a display case at New York-style counters and reheated to order; whole pies take 15-25 minutes at a busy shop. Most spots take cards and mobile pay, though a few older pizzerias remain cash-only, so check the door or the listing before you order.

The business lists hours on 7 days of the week. The most common schedule is 11 am–10 pm. As with most places, expect changes around holidays; the phone number below is the fastest way to confirm. You can reach The Spot at (203) 865-5762; calling is usually the quickest way to ask about availability, prices or directions.

On Google it holds a rating of 4.6 out of 5 from 42 reviews, which is a strong result for a pizza restaurant in New Haven and suggests consistent service.

New Haven is in Connecticut, in the Northeast, where four distinct seasons shape local life: hot humid summers, snowy winters that can close businesses for a day, and a dense pattern of towns where walking, transit and street parking all matter. US addresses list the street number and name, then the city, state abbreviation and ZIP code, and New Haven follows the same pattern; a suite or apartment number such as Ste 200 refers to a unit inside the building. The map link on this page shows the exact spot.

It’s Turkish/Syrian cuisine restaurant with excellent food with great selection of Mediterranean dishes.Knaffe, a traditional Middle Eastern dessert made with shredded phyllo dough (kataifi) or semolina, layered with a sweet, stretchy cheese, and baked until golden is worth trying. Hostess Besra was very nice and hospitable and helpful. Highly recommended.

Absolutely amazing experience!! Erika was our waitress, and she was absolutely incredible, she made a lasting first impression for us! The pizza was so delicious, especially the crust, and the atmosphere was so warm and friendly. Will be back!

The pizza here is SO delicious. It was my first time eating new haven pizza everyone talks about, and thoroughly enjoyed it. I only have a couple complaints, specifically regarding the tiramisu. The desert and food here is not cheap, and we ended up being served a tiramisu was was basically a brick because of how frozen it was. Keep in mind that when you come here, its not by the slice. You're going to have to buy a whole pie. Great experience overall.

I had the pleasure of eating at β€œThe Spot” last night and boy was I pleased with my experience. Not only is the pizza far superior than Sally’s in terms of quality and flavor but this is the original joint that Frank started, brick oven and all! We ordered the small original tomato pie with mozzarella. The pizza was thick enough to stand on its own, cheesy and delicious, and had an incredible flavor profile. I can’t stop thinking about it! For those who are confused about the two places, let me clear it up for you: you wait in the main line outside β€œFrank Pepe’s” and if you’re lucky, they tell you that there’s a table in the back for you at β€œThe Spot”. Per the waitress, Frank started at The Spot and expanded to Frank Pepe’s in the front. What does this mean for you? It means your wait time is cut in half because there are two buildings for you to que into. There are also two parking lots, one on either side of the Frank Pepe’s building.

Came here on a Sunday at 1 for some renown pizza was not disappointed. I am a NY/NJ pizza fan, thin crust with slightly sweet tomato sauce and slices you can fold. The parking was tricky on a Sunday and after seeing the lines at the other spot up the block Sally’s we waited in line for about 10 minutes but decided on take out from the smaller spot around the block. Walked right in and ordered. The were 4 guys making pies and after about 30 minutes I was enjoying a plain cheese pie and a margarita with the family. No slices so we had left overs. The plain cheese was a bit oily and floppy with the tangy element to the sauce it was an amazing I understand the criticism of well done but this is intended. The texture of the margarita pie was crisp like a cracker with cornmeal on the bottom. Amazing sauce and texture. Will try to come back again and sit down for lunch next time. 2 pies was $47 usd
